Kellyanne Conway Says People Don’t Want To Serve Trump Because Of Paperwork

President Trump’s biggest supporter, Kellyanne Conway, appeared on Fox & Friends on Thursday morning to complain about the amount of paperwork required to get a job at the White House. According to Conway, the paperwork discourages “good men and women” from serving under the Trump administration — a problem the Obama administration never faced.

The interview started awkwardly with Ainsley Earhardt first asking Conway why Anthony Scaramucci’s tweet accusing someone of leaking his financial disclosure information included mention of Chief of Staff Reince Priebus.

In true Conway form, she deflected the question and went on the offensive.

“The fact is that we just have to cut down on people thinking it’s cute and makes them popular, and it somehow enhances their resume and their portfolio for later on, to curry favor with folks who are more interested in covering the style and not the substance here.”

Conway then said the paperwork needed to serve in government is a big hurdle that many Trump staff picks can’t seem to overcome.

“There are so many qualified men and women who wanted to serve this president, this administration and their country, who have been completely demoralized and completely, I think, disinclined to do so based on the paperwork that we have to put forward,” Conway lamented.

“Divesting assets, the different hoops you have to run through because this White House is transparent and accountable and we’ve all complied with those rules,” she added.

“But it is dis-incentivizing good men and women, and I hope it doesn’t dis-incentivize Anthony,” she concluded.

It should be noted that a large number of high-level cabinet positions in the Trump administration remain unfilled.
