President Trump To Speak At Anti-LGBT Hate Group Gathering

President Trump is about to become the first U.S. President in recent times to openly speak at a hate group’s planned gathering.

The 45th POTUS will speak at the Values Voters Summit in Washington, DC on Friday. The Summit is operated by the Family Research Council (FRC), an organization that is widely referred to as a “hate group” because of its views about the LGBTQ community.

In a move that will surprise nobody, the event hosts a coalition of white supremacists, far right activists and religious extremists.

Among the other speakers at the event is Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson, the very same man who said we need to “rid the Earth” of “wicked” gays. Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore will also be in attendance, he’s the man who questioned whether gays and lesbians should be put to death. President Trump is the main supporter for Moore’s campaign and the President continues to support Moore despite his removal from the state supreme court justice for instructing state employees to ignore the US Supreme Court ruling in favor of marriage equality.

Moore has appeared multiple times on a radio show hosted by pastor Kevin Swanson, who is known for preaching that gay people must be stoned to death.

Steve Scalise, the House Majority Whip who also opposes rights for the LGBT community will also be attendance. He’s the man whose life was saved by a heroic lesbian police officer. One of his first actions back at the job will be to speak out against her and others.

The FRC’s own website does a great job of explaining what Donald Trump supports:

“Family Research Council believes that homosexual conduct is harmful to the persons who engage in it and to society at large, and can never be affirmed. It is by definition unnatural, and as such is associated with negative physical and psychological health effects.”

Tony Perkins, the FRC’s president, said that Scalise’s return to health was a miracle brought on by an “answer to prayer” and not the actions of the lesbian police officer. “His fighting spirit in overcoming the odds is a source of inspiration for those who are fighting for the heart and soul of our nation and our culture. I look forward to welcoming my friend and former colleague back to the Values Voter stage,” he added.

During his time as the presidential candidate in 2016 Trump spoke at the same event. Apparently, President Trump just feels most at home with his fellow alt-right supporters.
